A couple of years ago my cousin Brian and his wife Jessica moved to Israel. I haven’t seen them much since the move, but they recently came to visit the States and made a stop in Arizona. The rest of Brian’s family made their way to us as well so that we could all meet up to celebrate….Brian and Jessica’s baby-on-the-way! And to make our time together even more awesome, my brother came home from college over the weekend. We got to spend plenty of time with everyone, from video games with the boys at my apartment to a baby shower.

After stalking Jessica’s Pinterest page, my mom and I decided to plan a circus themed baby shower. We feasted on chicken salad, croissants, cheese wedges, cotton candy, cupcakes and popcorn.

We each got our own mini Martinelli’s bottle and we attached little pinwheels to each straw.

We set up a “Ready to Pop!” popcorn section with a box of popcorn for each guest and spice packets so that each person could flavor their box to taste.

We created cotton candy cones by curling white paper and taping it on the inside.

The cupcakes were made from rainbow cake with vanilla frosting and rainbow sprinkles. I made circus cupcake toppers using cardstock, fringe string, stickers and skewers.

We decorated our gift and food tables with carnival tickets and vintage alphabet blocks.

Some of Jessica’s family members also made it to the shower so we got to spend some time with her grandparents, her aunt and her uncle. We had a great time chatting and opening gifts. At the end of the party, each guest received a box of animals crackers with homemade decorative tags.
